Kolkata: A housewife was allegedly beaten to death by her husband at Monteshwar in East Burdwan. The deceased Jhuma Ghosh (35) died while she was being shifted to Kolkata from Burdwan Medical College Hospital. Her husband Pralhad Ghosh fled the scene.Locals alleged that Pralhad had developed an extra-marital affair with another woman in Shaktigarh. Pralhad has business of curd cheese and for that he used to travel to various parts of the district. He also used to visit Shaktigarh, wher he met with another woman with whom Pralhad developed an affair. He continued with his affair and as a result altercations used take place between Jhuma and Pralhad almost daily. On Sunday night, a similar had situation occurred and an altercation broke out. All of a sudden Pralhad took out some blunt instrument and hit on Jhuma’s head. Later, her family members brought back Jhuma’s body to Burdwan Medical College hospital where doctors officially declared her brought dead.
