CLOSURE ORDER SERVED ON INDIAN/PAKISTANI RESTAURANT

first_imgA POPULAR Asian restaurant in Donegal has re-opened after a food safety probe. The Food Safety Authority served a closure order on Mr Gurpreet Singh of Monsoon Valley at the Retail Park in Bundoran on July 22.However the restaurant was allowed to re-open again on July 26 after complying with orders issued by the authority. Commenting on the latest Closure Orders, Prof. Alan Reilly, Chief Executive, FSAI, stated that vigilance is always required in relation to food safety and that the legal onus is on food businesses to act responsibly and ensure that the food they serve and sell is safe to eat.“Each Closure Order undermines consumer confidence in food safety which not only affects the food business involved, but the industry as a whole,” he said.“While most food businesses are committed to high standards for the health of their customers, this is not always the case. We’re urging food businesses to make sure that they have a food safety management system in place and that it is consulted on a regular basis and updated, where necessary, to ensure non-compliance issues and breaches of food safety legislation do not occur.”Details of the food businesses served with Enforcement Orders are published on the FSAI’s website. Closure Orders and Improvement Orders will remain listed on the website for a period of three months from the date of when a premises is adjudged to have corrected its food safety issue, with Prohibition Orders being listed for a period of one month.  CLOSURE ORDER SERVED ON INDIAN/PAKISTANI RESTAURANT was last modified: August 7th, 2014 by John2Share this:Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window)Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window)Click to share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)Click to share on Reddit (Opens in new window)Click to share on Pocket (Opens in new window)Click to share on Telegram (Opens in new window)Click to share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window)Click to share on Skype (Opens in new window)Click to print (Opens in new window) Tags:closure orderfood safetyFood Safety AuthorityFSAIMonsoon Bundoranlast_img read more
